Let’s talk about golf snacks. If you love to play golf, the heat can really take its toll on you. I do a good job of staying hydrated, drinking water before play then making sure that I sip every 15 minutes while in the game, but feeling great in high temperature is a challenge!

What I eat prior to playing a game of golf definitely impacts how I feel, thus impacting how I play. If you want to try a light snack instead of a meal before your next game in high temperatures, indulge in this: No Bake Peanut Butter Bites. Although I have adapted this recipe, I don’t claim it as my own. Most of the ingredients will probably already be in your kitchen and these bites can be made in 10 minutes with all variations of ingredients based on your taste and diet restrictions.

This recipe is wonderful to enjoy without turning on your oven and heating up your kitchen. Store them in the freezer for up to two months giving you have a cold, chewy snack to enjoy right before your next game! The heat can be tolerable if you know how to manage it!

No Bake Peanut Butter Bites

Recipe:

Yield: about 2 dozen               Total Time: 10 min

Ingredients:

1 Cup (dry) Oatmeal

1/2 Cup Peanut Butter (almond or cashew can be used)

One Half Cup ground Flax Seeds

1/2 Cup semi-sweet chocolate Chips

1/3 Cup honey or agave nectar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 scoop Premier Protein Powder (Vanilla)

Baking Directions

  1. Stir all ingredients together in a medium bowl until thoroughly mixed. Cover and let chill in the refrigerator for half an hour.
  2. Once chilled, roll into balls of whatever size you like (Mine are about 1 inch in diameter). Store in an airtight container and keep refrigerated for up to 1 week (or freeze for up to two months).
  3. Makes 20-25 balls.
Each ball is approximately 1 inch in diameter.
